It’s National Lipstick Day, so why not celebrate by playing with makeup?! When’s the last time you purchased lipstick? I haven’t bought a new shade all summer (or maybe all year!), but I received all of these lip stains and glosses over the mail and thought I’ll try them on with you. Watch the video below for more visuals.
Let’s start with Reina Rebelde, a Latina-owned makeup brand. They offer full coverage, and the best part? They’re cruelty free and have fun names like jefa (boss), alma desnuda, brava, xicana, fresa and rosa salvage. Pictured below I am wearing jefa and brava.
Covergirl launched their vegan collection a few months ago, and their Outlast Ultimatte One Step Liquid Lip Color is also vegan and cruelty-free. The Ultimatte lipstick gives you an intense shade that lasts up to 24 hours. (See the vibrant orange below!) The Prosecco pop is a fun neutral color. It’s similar to the Reina Rebelde “jefa” shade.
I received more than 14 shades of the L’Oreal Signature Matte Colored Lip Stain, another liquid lipstick. I loved the applicator on this one because it helped with precision. You can find a variety of options from bold reds to nudes and pinks and plums. Because it’s a lip stain, I recommend you choose your color carefully because you’ll be committed to that shade for a couple of hours. But you can easily remove it with an oil-based makeup remover.
It’s been a while since I’ve worn the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Hydrating Lip Shine. The gloss comes in 14 shades and has a non-sticky, non-drying formula you’ll love. I also got my hands on their Moisture Smooth Color Stick that’s made with fruit extracts and an easy crayon-like application without the need for a sharpener. You can wear the gloss alone, or blend it in with another shade how I did in the photo below.
Avon sent me their Rouge Powder Matte Lipstick, and I absolutely loved it! It went on super smooth and I loved this classic red shade.
Do you ever use a lip brush to apply lipstick? If so, Luxie Beauty has a cruelty-free lip brush for only $14! It also comes in their complete face set.
I invite you to watch my short video below. If you have loved ones who would like to watch this in Spanish, check out my video on SiempreMujer.com.
