What to pack in your holiday travel bag

When going away for a long weekend I always seem to overpack. The holidays are stressful enough, so to make things a little easier here are some tips on how to pack for your holiday vacation. Watch the tips I shared during my Facebook Live chat here (more than 6,000 views) or on the video below.

Plan ahead.

If you want everything to fit in a carry-on bag or a duffle bag, plan your outfit ahead of time and keep it simple. Flat boots are always a good option for a long weekend. Pack a chic sweater or festive red blouse. These faux leather boots are from JCPenney.

Take only the essential toiletries

When it comes to packing your toiletries, don’t take everything you see in your bathroom or makeup bag. But don’t forget your toothpaste or deodorant.

If you’re going to be drinking dark beverages like red wine during the holiday parties, I recommend you try Arm and Hammer Truly Radiant Clean & Fresh Toothpaste because it has baking soda which is a powerful whitening cleanser. It’s also great for a deep cleanse especially after eating so many sweets and meats this season.

Another essential item for a long weekend this holiday season is a fast drying deodorant. One of my favorites is the Dove Dry Spray because it goes instantly dry without you having to apply it directly to your underarms. It lasts 48 hours and doesn’t leave white residue. It can also be gifted to an overnight guest. GIVEAWAY! Win a 6-month supply of the Dove Dry Spray. To enter, share this video on your Facebook wall and let me know.

Finally, for some of us, a portable phone charger might be the most important item of all. They are pretty expensive in the airport so don’t leave yours behind. This PocketJuice is from JCPenney.
