As I landed in Turks & Caicos, I got a WhatsApp message following up on a fertility conference taking place in the Dominican Republic. On the way to the villa I had a productive call planning out the details for a panel, and I knew right away this was something I wanted to be part of.
I’m excited to announce I’ll be participating as a panelist at the Second International Encounter #YoCuidoMiFertilidad, a full day event dedicated to reproductive health in the Dominican Republic, taking place on Saturday, June 20th.
The panel I’ll be joining is focused on holistic fertility — a conversation that covers everything from endometriosis and acupuncture as a fertility tool, to the emotional weight of the journey and what motherhood after 40 really looks like beyond what gets shared on social media.
I’ll be joined by Soraya González Pons, a specialist in acupuncture and fertility, and Laura Sgroi, a natural fertility and wellness coach.
Going to Santo Domingo to have this discussion means a great deal to me personally. These are topics that remain taboo in many Latin American communities, and bringing them to the island, in Spanish, feels like exactly the kind of work Soy Nueva Mamá was built for.
