Reconnecting to my Dominican Roots Dish by Dish

Share

For years I purposely refused to learn how to cook thinking I was making a statement. My protest against cooking started in high school. It wasn’t until recently that I had a change of heart.

During quarantine I am reconnecting to my Dominican roots dish by dish. I pulled out the phone camera (for the first time in a long time) to document a short story while I make sofrito.

It’s only my third time making sofrito – a homemade sauce blend of bell peppers, onions, Dominican oregano, garlic, cilantro and a bouillon cube.

Watch my video and let me know if you have any tips or questions!
